Solar Panel Installation

Have you ever thought about having solar panels fitted to your house for a more efficient way of heating up your hot water? Whether the answer to that question is yes or no, you should have a read of our latest solar panel installation to find out the benefits you could enjoy.

At Marble Plumbing we endeavor to tell all our customers about different types of renewable energies and ways in which they can benefit. A customer recently inquired about a new heating system and the possibility of having solar panels. Solar panels lose efficiency quickly if they are not in the sun, so we had to make sure that we placed them where they were going to get the most exposure as possible to the sun. Luckily the roof wasn’t obstructed by any telegraph poles or tress so it would get quite a lot of sun throughout the day. Their roof was a good fit for the solar panels as it wasn’t obstructed by any telegraph poles or trees and was south facing. Here is some information on how the installation process developed.

We started off by measuring the spot where the first solar panel would be placed, and then put the clips in place on the roof. So that we could place the clips on the roof we had to remove a few roof tiles and find a suitable roof batton for the weight. Once we had found a suitable support for the bracket we fixed the bracket to it and tightened it up before moving along to measure up for the second solar panel. Once we had all the bottom clips for both panels in place we moved further up the roof to install the top two clips for the top of the panels, which had to line up exactly so that the panel fitted perfectly.

Now that the clips were in place and secure we attached the bars which the panels would be sat on and bolted them to the clips. We were now ready for the solar panels. After getting the solar panels onto the roof it was very straight forward to attach them to the bars, the panel just slides onto them. We made sure that the panels were lined up with the windows for a more aesthetic look and then finally we had to attach clips to the inside of the bars which then attached to the panel to give more stability.
